I'm writing a new article for Simply Youth Ministry this weekend and the thrust of it is how to plan a big event. I've come up with 9 considerations to be aware of when planning the first meeting - have you got one to add to this list?
- Heart - why are we doing this?
- Target Audience - who are we trying to reach?
- Purpose - which biblical purpose is primary?
- History - what have we done like this in the past?
- Goal - what is success?
- Explanation - can you define insider language? Time for questions.
- Specifics - who does what? what are the next steps?
- Marketing - how are we going to let students know about the event?
- Follow-up - when are we meeting again?

hey josh, what about crowd control/greeters. people who are in place to meet and care for students as they arrive and to point them to the proper places to go. just a thought...the others you have are great!
