Book Review: Disconnected - Parenting Teens in a MySpace World

I actually thought this book was centered more on the online world, but it's actually a great primer on parenting teenagers, and what students in the adolescent years need most. While I was expecting something else, this is still a strong title for parents to get if they've got kids in that stage of growing up.
Youth workers could consider a 6-week small group study around the bookwith parents to help them raise their teenagers. And at the very least the last couple of chapters should be read by everyone with children. The 6 Longings of Today's Adolescents is a fantastic chapter, next time you're in Barnes and Noble at least read that one if you don't want to wade through the whole book.
All in all, the book has nothing to do with the internet and MySpace, and everything to do with helpful wisdom connecting parents with their teenagers.

dude you've been doing a lot of reading on this vacation. that's awesome. i love picking out a stack of books for a vacation and actually getting through all/most of them. i usually pick too many and then never complete enough...
