Google Ads on the Blog

SimplyJosh.com has now moved to DownloadYouthMinistry.com - follow this link to visit the new site with new posts everyday!

OK, so when I first posted Google ads on the site, I got some flak from people saying things like I was "caving in" or a "sellout." And at first, it was like $.02 a day so I wasn't too thrilled about it either. Then, people started clicking ads and here were are a month later and I've made enough to buy a video game.

So my kids and I will be playing Lego Star Wars 2 later today on the Xbox 360 because of the ads! Fun!

UPDATE: Some people have written in asking about getting their blog or website set up with Google Ads - so in the right-hand column I've added a little white banner you can click to get set up yourself quickly and easily! -------->

do you have to put them on all the posts you put them on, or do they just go there.. AND how long does it take until the ads start focusing around what your blog is about?????

Sign up for it using the link on my blog (in the right column). After you are approved, you can grab the code and put it into your template, or in specific posts.

It will start very quickly picking up your blog content and serving up relevant ads. Pretty amazing, actually.

Once you sign up you can get all sorts of different shapes and sizes of ads.

josh, i'm sold. i went through you for a referral. but now i'm having a hard time putting th eads after each of my posts. if i copy th ecode directly into the end of my post, i get a javascript error. how is it that you've got the ads deployed that way?

There's a couple of ways ... 1) put it right into your template, so you don't have to mess with it regulary and 2) insert it into your post (be sure to click IGNORE error) and publish!
